Exposing Rhythms

Exposing_Rhythms_Announcement

It’s a new year at Ragged Edge Printmaking Studio.   We have new studio partners and new energy.  We have been having open studio sessions and looking for others who want to join in the fun. Watch for more scarf printing classes, or be in contact to see how you can hasten spring by making art.

Please join Fred Neudoerffer and I
at the reception for our show of monotypes and photographs, Exposing Rhythms
at The Jan Rutland  Artists’  Space
during First Friday in Ballston Spa March 1st.

I hope to share my art with you!

A Personal Appearance

The Open Door, Schenectady’s great bookstore and gift gallery, has been selling my scarves for quite a while now.   The Open Door has always been a place I go to find something special,  and I’m proud to be represented among their carefully and expertly curated selection.

On Friday, October 14, as part of Art Night Schenectady, they have invited me to come in and show a wide range of ways to use scarves to add flair to any outfit.  Over the years I have learned many tricks and techniques to use scarves, and it will be my pleasure to share these with you.

Come down and meet me.  You can say hello and then wander to the great events of Art Night, you can browse The Open Door, and you can get a personal consultation on what styles and colors will suit you and your personal style.

I’ll be at The Open Door from 6 PM until 7:30 PM, and I’d love to see you there!

I wish I had more photos to show you of our Open Studios Art Event!  It was quite a success, with over 35 artists, all with a Cohoes connection.  We had over 200 guests Friday night, and another 100 Saturday.

My work was shown with other Ragged Edge artists in a second gallery, just down the street from where the reception and main event was held.

Thank you to all who exhibited, attended, and helped pull it all together!  We look forward to more art related events in Cohoes in the near future!

I wish I was at the beach! It’s hot and getting hotter! This print was inspired by standing with my feet in saltwater on a Gloucester beach last year.  The sunlight sparkled on the rippling waters, highlighting all the pebbles as they rolled in the gentle surf.  When I was working on the print, I began to embellish and add imagery from the tidal pools in Maine that I love so much.

What a great way to use those prints that just don’t quite make it on their own!  She showed us lot’s of other ideas for interesting books, and it’s really got me excited to create more.
